Happy New Year

making tracks in fresh snow

I’ve done my best in this holiday week to unplug, slow routines, spend time with family, and generally not be “doing” in the regular sense for a bit. Not easy, and our whole family routine’s been off, but I think it’s been good.

I hope you’ve been able to have some rest as well.

Reflecting on the past year through the lens of this bloggy space, 2024 was a good year. Amidst the mix of work and family life, I was able to carve out some time to pull out my pens and paper, usually weekly, to doodle. I intentionally tried to make this practice paper-, not screen-based, to make it an outlet outside of my normal work life in front of a screen.

As a bonus, lots of you seemed to resonate with my maps and jokes, which made the making all the more enjoyable.

In 2025 I’m looking forward to more adventures in the outdoors, and documenting them in doodle format. There might be a few more posters and other things I can share along the way as well.

Thanks for being part of this journey, whether we interact IRL or not, I appreciate the connection with you.
