DIY Perogy Mile

After four great years, we decided to put Perogy Mile on the shelf for this year. But if you’re craving that unmistakable elixir of perogies and physical exertion, if your stomach is screaming for pain, we’ve got you covered.

Here is a guide for hosting your own Perogy Mile Dinner.

A few easy steps to inflict pain on your closest friends.

Coincidentally, yesterday (thx to Brendan) I learned about the annual Taco Bell 50K, which hits on the familiar themes of trying to hold food down while running, just for a much longer time. Congrats to all participants, thanks your inspiration.

This quote in Dan’s article about the event for The Colorado Sun both resonated and explained nearly every bad running event I’ve been part of for the past five years:

“This is proof why you should never let ultramarathoners in the same room together for more than 5 minutes.”
– Dan England

Fortunately the Taco Bell idea won’t translate well here, as Steinbach has no Taco Bell, yet (it’s in construction, because queremos Taco Bell!). But we do have several Tim Hortons, and a plethora of pizza joints…

Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving to you. May you enjoy many perogies and many miles. Though maybe not at the same time.
