In 2023 our family visited the little island of Schiermonnikoog, one of the wadden islands of the Netherlands. With a lot of natural and historical significance, we enjoyed biking around the island exploring all we could find.

PS: we had a lot of fun trying to learn how to even say the name of this island, it’s longer than the land itself, haha. “Schier” is an archaic word for “gray”, “monnik” means “monk”, and “oog” means “island”. It’s named after the monks who once inhabited the island, who wore gray habits. Now you know!
