Manitoba Running Posters

The odd time I shared a doodle over the past year, I’d get a note from my friends over at Big Sky Run Co saying, “Would love to have this one for the shop!”

Now, to celebrate the end of a big year of adventures for so many of of you, I’ve printed a few posters, which are now available at Big Sky.

These doodles are really a lot of fun to make, and when they resonate with other people, that’s even better. When I dropped these off on the weekend, we all had stories similar to the “need a pep talk from a random old guy” comment in the MB Marathon poster above. On race day everyone has their own experience, but there’s a lot we all share.

These doodles take a long and windy route in getting to print. First I re-trace the original 5.5×8.5″ poster to get clearer outlines. Then I scan it in, touch up the lines in Photoshop, and trace to vector format in Illustrator. This lets me scale the poster and get a clean print at any size. (There are a few 20×30″ prints of these in the shop, and they look great!)
