Race the North Face is one of those annual reunion races for the Manitoba trailrunning community. So many familiar faces among the 470+ runners, volunteers, and associated friends and family. I had the chance to run the 25k this year for the first time since 2022. I learned lessons back then, and still had more to learn this year.
But enough about me… the highlight was watching my 9-year-old pin on her Kids Race bib with anticipation, run her run, then beam with a combination of afternoon heat and finisher’s pride in having earned the medal that hung around her neck. (The other highlight happened before the race in an epic father-daughter campout the night before.)
How’d your race go? Any excuses you’d contribute to the list?
