When the WiFi Goes Out

We get into routines, and they’re not always helpful. Habits slowly form into ruts that seem difficult to steer out of.

Sometimes we need a shift to simply to pick up our head and check out our surrounding. A change of course doesn’t always happen without some outside force.

The beauty of vacations, summer breaks, and travel is that these abnormal days shake up our routine. They help us to see again. We forget to check our phone for its comforting pings because we’ve left that familiar context where that habit formed in the first place.

And once we return home, we have the opportunity to re-approach the familiar, and form new habits.

Go on vacation. I hope the WiFi’s terrible.
