A friend linked my to Nancy Duarte’s free webinar where she talks about some of the thoughts from her new book, Resonate. Nancy’s the CEO of Duarte, a presentation design firm, and has a ton of great tools and wisdom to share from her years of developing presentations.

I’ve just started cracking into Resonate (Santa was good to me ;)), and love it so far! The design of the book is an inspiration in itself, and the advice is proving to be challenging and helpful.

So far Duarte’s emphasized the importance of not thinking of yourself as the hero of your presentation, but to think of yourself as a mentor or coach to the real hero: your audience. I also loved how she stressed the importance of being personal, because it’s stories and humanity that draw your audience in and create change.
