Don’t Be a Suit

This phrase got me thinking when I heard it in a podcast a couple days ago. “Suits” aren’t getting a very good rap these days, and often for good reason. But I’m realizing there’s a difference between wearing a suit and being one.

Regardless of social status, you have the opportunity daily to be human and be generous in your work and your life. If you don’t want to be a suit, you don’t have to. But it has nothing to do with dress code.

(Fortunately, I work with a lot of good suit-wearing folks who are also great humans :)).

“Every successful organization is built around people. Humans who do art. People who interact with other people. Men and women who don’t merely shuffle money, but interact, give gifts, and connect.” – Seth Godin
